Maurice O’Sullivan

Maurice O’Sullivan took up the role of Clare PPN’s Community & Voluntary Rep on the Physical Development SPC (Strategic Policy Committee) of Clare County Council in October 2024. 

Maurice worked in adult support services in the UK for many years before returning to Ireland for a quieter life, and has a good understanding of housing associations and tenancy rights, as well as the need for the representation and understanding of the needs of marginalised people. As a foster carer, he is particularly interested in advocating for secure tenancy options for young people leaving care. As an out gay man in his 60s he is also interested in representing the interests of the LGBTQIA+ community in Co Clare.
