Clare People –Have Your Voices Heard:

You have until February 29th 2016 to make a submission to the final draft of the  Clare County Development Plan for 2017 – 2023

Are you fed up with flooding? Fascinated by festivals? Demented with lack of diversity? Anxious about art spaces? Curious about culture? Have you suggestions for sustainability? Ideas about inclusion? Okay Okay… enough already…

We want to make sure that as many Clare residents as possible are aware that that whatever their interests or concerns are, they can have their voices heard by making a submission to the Draft County Clare Development Plan 2017- 2023 before February 29th 2016 (before 4pm to be precise).

What is the Clare County Development Plan 2017- 2023?

The County Development Plan is the single most important policy document for the County as it represents an agreed economic, social, cultural and environmental blueprint for the future planning, growth and development of County Clare.  The plan sets out an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the County over a six year period. Local authorities are obliged to begin drafting a new county development plan within four years of the previous plan’s adoption and so, even though it is only the beginning of 2016, they are already at the third stage of the four stage process of drafting and adopting a new plan.  Don’t worry though it is not too late for groups and individuals to have their opinions, ideas and suggestions taken into account.

Groups registered with the PPN are all entitled to make submissions as is every child, adult or in-between  who lives in the county. These submissions do not have to be technical or expert or even very complicated-as someone who lives in County Clare the local authority must take your view into consideration.

How do you go about making a submission?
