Clare PPN invites all its member groups to the first county-level Plenary meeting of 2017

This meeting will take place in the Old Ground Hotel at 7 pm Wednesday February 1st.

What is a Plenary Meeting? These twice yearly county level meetings are the main decision making events for the PPN and this is why we want as many of our groups as possible to attend or at least send a representative.  At each ‘Plenary’decisions made since the last meeting are ratified by the member groups, and the agenda and main themes of work for the PPN are set for the forthcoming year.

What kind of things will be discussed? Clare PPN had a great year in 2016 with the second half of the year in particular seeing the PPN host a variety of public training events including the oversubscribed Green Shoots Gathering, as well as conducting #ClareHowAreYa? a county wide well-being survey on people’s feelings about life in Clare and collaborating with the Clare People newspaper on a special souvenir edition of the paper which presented ‘Proclamations’ written by school children from across the county. All groups who send a representative to this meeting can be involved in deciding what we prioritize for the year ahead.

Our representatives on all of Clare County Council’s Committees have settled into their roles and made great efforts to bring the views of the PPN member groups to the table wherever they were asked. We have also elected community representatives to new positions on the Fisheries Local Action Group and on the Leader Fund Community Development and Social Inclusion Evaluation Committee. At our plenary meeting we will be asking our members to ratify these appointments. You will have a chance to meet some of your representatives and the hard working members of the secretariat who organise the day to day workings of the group.

Who Can Attend? This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in Clare Public Participation Network but decisions will be made by member groups only.
