Ciara has worked in various roles in the community and voluntary sector over the past 18 years. She has extensive experience of working with individuals, organisations and community groups, and is looking forward to working with the rest of the team to provide mediation services to community groups in Clare.

Margaret has trained and worked in Montessori, Special Needs and Elderly Care. She was self-employed in the Tourism sector for a number of years. She has experience working in and with small groups, and currently reside in West Clare.

Edel Donnellan has been an active member of several voluntary organisations in her community for many years, including development and tidy towns. She believes that community volunteers have always been the back bone of rural communities in particular. Edel has worked for many years in the business and education sectors. She currently works as an adult education tutor with the National Adult Literacy Agency.

Sharon Meaney has worked in the community & voluntary sector for almost 20 years, during which time she as worked in community web development & web accessibility, capacity building, training, project management and policy development. She has been Manager of the Clare Volunteer Centre since 2008, and works with both volunteers and community and voluntary organisations. Sharon is an active volunteer in her own community and believes that volunteering has the potential to bring about positive and sustainable change.

MARY O’DONOHUE

Mary O’Donoghue is co-ordinator with the West Clare Family Resource Centre which is based in Kilrush. She has a strong commitment to working for social change to eliminate poverty, social injustices and inequalities. She has a full belief and understanding of the right of all people to be involved in decision-making which affect their lives. Mary believes that we have to work collectively, we have to build participation and we have to make sure that people who are traditionally excluded are included. Mary has over 25 years experience of community and youth work and is a strong advocate on all areas of social inclusion. Mary has worked on the development of the Local Economic and Social Plan which is the responsibility of the LCDC to deliver. As a West Clare woman, she would be a strong voice for all groups experiencing social exclusion in Clare and she has the experience and confidence to bring issues forward to the LCDC. She believes that we can create change in our county to make it a better place for all people and she would like the opportunity to do this as your Social Inclusion representative on the Clare Local Community Development Committee.
